Hands-down my favorite!
Several years ago good friends introduced me to Superfood Cocoa chocolate with a bar of Rum Reggae Dark Chocolate. Prior to this I was never a fan of plain chocolate, or even dark chocolate. But the flavor was remarkable, unlike anything I’d tasted before. I ordered a few other bars to taste and found that I really like 70% chocolate even more. I tried the Dominican Dark and I discovered my true favorite and I now buy 10 bars each month. It’s definitely a DARK chocolate! It’s an expensive “habit”, but life’s too short to not indulge a bit.

Ordered some bars and the freshly pressed cacao powder to make my own hot chocolate. Hands down the best chocolate I’ve ever tasted. I don’t normally make reviews, but I can’t help this time.
I have been trying a different bean-to-bar chocolate from several different makers for every day of December (like a chocolate Advent calendar). This chocolate has been my favorite so far, and it was the very clear favorite when compared to another very good producer (who shall remain nameless) who offers an (also tasty but less complex) Dominican Oko Caribe bar. I found caramel notes right out of the gate, which gave way to a very pleasant fruity brightness. A very slight and mild spice (achiote?) whispers in the finish. Adding a pinch of salt to the tasting further helps unveil the fruitiness into even more pronounced violets and lavender. A very pleasant ride of flavours, aroma, and super smooth texture.

Wow! The Superfood Cocoa single origin chocolates have so much personality that it is tough to choose a favorite, but at the moment the dark Dominican Republic is mine. The flavors are so rich and complex that one small bite is totally satisfying. The 30g may seem at first a small bar but at the end I am so satisfied that any bigger would be just too much.
